New retail pharmacy opens in Medical Plaza Building
St. Anthony’s Medical Center has opened a retail pharmacy in the lobby of St. Anthony’s Medical Plaza Building at 12700 Southfork Road, at the corner of Tesson Ferry and Schuessler roads. The building is just behind St. Anthony’s main hospital campus and near the South County YMCA.
The new retail pharmacy is designed to making filling prescriptions more convenient for patients visiting their physicians in that building, as well as for area residents who live nearby, says Rick Tod, pharmacy manager.
“Going to the doctor because you feel sick, coming out with a prescription, and then having to drag yourself to the nearest retail pharmacy to wait in line to fill that prescription – or maybe even having to return later to pick it up – can be a real drain when you already don’t feel well,” Tod says. “Having the pharmacy located right in the building definitely means a shorter wait time for patients. Most prescription orders take 15 minutes or less – and the patients don’t even have to leave the building.”
Physicians can call, fax or electronically send their patients’ prescriptions to the new retail pharmacy, which accepts E-Scribe and nearly all insurance cards. A variety of over-the-counter products also are available for purchase at the retail pharmacy.
St. Anthony’s Plaza Retail Pharmacy is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The new pharmacy’s phone number is 314-525-4488.
