Dr. Forand to serve second term as president of medical staff

Joseph M. Forand, M.D., will serve a second term as President of the Medical, Dental, and Podiatric Staff of St. Anthony’s Medical Center. Dr. Forand was the only physician nominated during this month’s quarterly meeting of the medical staff. Once elected, he will begin a second two-year term as Medical Staff President and on the hospital’s Board of Directors.

Dr. Forand is a board-certified anesthesiologist who joined St. Anthony’s medical staff in 1988 as a member of the hospital’s newly established heart surgery program. He has served various leadership roles over the last 26 years, including Director of Anesthesiology, President of the Missouri Society of Anesthesiologists, Board Member at the Missouri State Board of Health, and Vice-Chairman of the St. Anthony’s Charitable Foundation. His continuing involvement in professional, civic and charitable organizations includes the Missouri State Medical Association, St. Anthony’s Charitable Foundation and the Foundation’s Physician Ambassadors Committee. Dr. Forand also served as an Executive Producer for the film Anatomy of an Overdose, which teaches about the dangers of heroin use.
