St. Anthony’s Cancer Care Center
Once your doctor has discussed your diagnosis with you, your health care team springs into action, ready to begin treatment. At St. Anthony’s Cancer Care Center, we use the most advanced prostate cancer treatment technologies. In addition, our skilled staff is here to support you. We will answer any questions you have, whether it’s about treatment options, insurance information or where to park.
Treatment Options for Prostate Cancer
The two most common treatment options for prostate cancer are surgery and radiation. Chemotherapy, the use of powerful cancer-killing drugs, is used only when the cancer has metastasized (spread) beyond the prostate to other organs in your body.
Robotic Surgery for Prostate Cancer
St. Anthony’s Cancer Care Center has the robotic da Vinci® Si™ Surgical System available for prostate cancer surgeries. This robotic-assisted surgical system may allow your surgeon greater precision and control during the surgery. Most importantly for you, its use often allows your doctor to spare the delicate nerves controlling bladder control and sexual function.
Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer
- Intensity-modulated, image-guided external beam radiation therapy
- Brachytherapy (radiation seed implant)
Many of our prostate cancer patients receive radiation therapy using the Trilogy IGRT system, the most advanced radiation therapy system in the world.
