Classes & Events

Our community is important to us: we want to help you stay healthy and to be up-to-date on the latest news in health care. Here are some of the latest classes, seminars, tours and other events we've developed with you in mind.

Please note: a 10 percent discount will be offered for seniors, St. Anthony's employees (who must use their valid St. Anthony's e-mail address when registering) or those enrolling in multiple paid classes. If you have any questions about our classes, please call 314-ANTHONY (268-4669).

Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class+

Instructed by Kym Huie, an Arthritis Foundation Certified Instructor. This Arthritis Foundation class offers low-impact exercises that can be done either sitting or standing to help relieve stiffness and pain and to build strength and stamina. The class was developed by physical therapists specifically for people with arthritis or related conditions.

This class meets a total of 12 times, twice a week on Monday and Thursday through October 31, 2016.

Tai Chi for Health - Monday

Instructed by Kym Huie. Is a system of gentle movements that has been shown to improve balance, increase muscle strength and range of motion, strengthen the cardiovascular and immune systems, open the joints, and improve heart and lung function. Movements can be done standing or sitting and are suitable for adults and seniors of all levels of ability.

This class meets 6 times, each Monday through October 31, 2016.

Super-Gentle Senior Yoga

In this mat class especially for seniors and new students, movements are slow with gentle and gradual stretching. Students will use props and learn ways to safely support their poses. The combination of stretching, breathing and strengthening is beneficial to help joints become more flexible, reduce stiffness, pain and muscle tension as well as increase range of motion and improve balance.

This class meets 6 times, each Monday through October 31, 2016.
