Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® certification as named by The Joint Commission
The Joint Commission has named St. Anthony’s Medical Center as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures
®. The hospital is one of only 1,043 hospitals in the United States and only 20 in Missouri to achieve this distinction, based on excellence in accountability measure performance.
St. Anthony’s has been recognized for its achievement on the 2014 accountability measure sets of heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care and perinatal care. Accountability measures are quality measures that meet four criteria—research, proximity, accuracy and adverse effects—designed to identify measures that produce the greatest positive impact on patient outcomes when hospitals demonstrate improvement.
To be named a Top Performer, a hospital must achieve performance of 95 percent or above on each accountability measure and 95 percent cumulatively across all reported accountability measures, among other attainments.
“At St. Anthony’s, our priority is to continually strengthen patient safety and quality of care,” said David Sindelar, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board at St. Anthony’s. “We’ve done that by improving evidence-based care processes that have been shown to be the best treatments for certain conditions.
“We are proud to be named a Top Performer and thank our hospital staff for their dedication, knowledge and teamwork.”
