Patient works on balance exercises with physical therapist

St. Louisan Betty Resch works on balance exercises with physical therapist Krysti Eckert, PT.

The Focus is on YOU

St. Anthony's Sports and Therapy Services

At St. Anthony's three outpatient therapy locations in Arnold, Fenton, and across the street from the hospital, each therapist works with only one patient at a time for every physical, occupational, and speech outpatient therapy session.

“Many programs have therapists managing several patients at a time,” says Jamie Nobbe, PT, manager of outpatient therapy. “But because our therapists work with only one patient at a time, we notice immediately when to make adjustments in an exercise program to keep patients progressing toward their goals.”

Research has found that “purposeful, progressive adjustments” in therapy rapidly return patients to lifestyle activities. Also critical is the experience of the therapist. At St. Anthony’s, all outpatient therapists have 10 to 30 years of experience, with many also holding advanced certifications.

Outpatient therapy programs include:

  • Amputee rehabilitation
  • Communication/voice
  • Hand rehabilitation
  • Lymphedema management
  • Neurological rehabilitation
  • Orthopedics
  • Spine rehabilitation
  • Sports medicine
  • Swallow rehabilitation
  • Urinary continence
  • Vestibular/balance
