ED staff provided prompt, nurturing care.

I have had routine colonoscopies at St. Anthony’s over the years. The physicians and staff have always shown exemplary care in providing these services. But it was in August 2011 when I was in need of care in St. Anthony’s Emergency Department. One morning, I was on my way to work. It was my husband’s birthday and the last day of work before a planned vacation. At an intersection, very suddenly, I was hit by an oncoming car! It all happened very fast! Fortunately no one was seriously hurt. We both had demolished cars, and the worst for me was my dislocated toe. I was whisked off to the St. Anthony’s Emergency Department. All the staff reassured me and provided prompt, nurturing care. The physician skillfully re-located my toe and, after a few hours, I was on my way home. I could still go on vacation!

I have worked at St. Anthony’s Medical Center for more than 11 years, as a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator. I take pride in the outpatient diabetes and nutrition services our department provides, and we are a wonderful, hard-working team. Now, I can say from first- hand experience that I am also proud of the hard-working team in the Emergency Department, too!
