Attentive, caring staff made surgery process easy and comfortable.

A few months before becoming a St. Anthony’s employee, I had thyroid surgery at the hospital. I’d had a benign growth on my thyroid for several years.  It was getting larger and causing problems, so I met with St. Anthony's ear, nose and throat surgeon Jose Lima MD about having it removed. We scheduled surgery, which required an overnight stay, as I needed to have about three quarters of the thyroid gland removed along with the growth. It was the first time I'd ever spent the night in a hospital, but my experience was a very positive one, and I’ve since healed nicely without any surgical-site pain or discomfort. Dr. Lima, his office staff, and the St. Anthony's nursing staff were attentive and caring. They made the whole process easy and comfortable for me. It's one of the reasons I felt very positive about becoming a St. Anthony's employee when the opportunity arose.
