Women's Health Quality: Breast Center, Mammography Suite Ace State Inspection
For the third straight year, St. Anthony’s Medical Center’s Breast Center and Mammography Suite both have received perfect scores on their annual state inspections, conducted in accordance with the federal Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).
This certification means St. Anthony’s delivers the highest quality mammography care to patients, from imaging to reporting, said Judi Elston, Breast Center manager.
“I am proud of our program’s ability to consistently obtain a perfect score on our MQSA inspection and it demonstrates our team’s commitment to quality,” Elston said. “This is not an easy task and requires constant oversight throughout the year.”
The inspection, performed by the state Department of Health and Human Services, includes a review of the department’s quality control records including daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly equipment and processing tests to ensure compliance with MQSA standards. The regulations also require staff and physicians to comply with specific continuing education standards and procedure volumes to maintain knowledge and skills related to mammography.
St. Anthony’s Breast Center and Mammography Suite are among 179 FDA-certified facilities in Missouri.
