Five Physicians Receive National Recognition for Diabetes Care

Five St. Anthony’s Medical Center physicians recently were recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for the care they provide to patients with diabetes.

Robert Curtin, M.D., an internal medicine specialist; Andrew Grabowski, D.O., family medicine specialist; Bharathi Raju, M.D., an endocrinologist and internal medicine specialist; Sheryl Ream, M.D., internal medicine specialist and pediatrician; and Stephen Staten, M.D., family medicine specialist, have been recognized as part of NCQA’s Diabetes Physician Recognition Program.

The program, which was developed in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association, recognizes physicians who keep their patients’ blood sugar levels and blood pressure at acceptable levels and routinely perform eye and foot exams.

The NCQA is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. Employers and consumers use information provided by NCQA to make more informed health care choices.
