St. Anthony's named Supply Chain of Excellence Award winner
St. Anthony’s Medical Center was recognized at the 2012 IDN Summit and Reverse Expo with a Supply Chain of Excellence Award.
The awards recognize best practices and innovative ideas from healthcare systems that have achieved critical supply chain efficiencies.
Perry Willmore, director of Supply Chain Management, and Kory Stout, business director of Intravascular Services, were presenters at the conference for St. Anthony’s, which competed against other hospitals with fewer than 1,000 beds.
“St. Anthony’s goal is to become a Top 10 Cardiology Center of Excellence,” Perry Willmore said. “As part of the initiative to attain that goal, representatives of medical center physicians and of the supply chain team formed the Cardiology Supply and Contracting Committee. This committee was charged with finding ways to enhance patient outcomes, while addressing the high cost of patient care. Through this partnership, they employed a streamlined process to successfully decrease supply chain costs.”
Created in 1986, the IDN Summit and Reverse Expo focuses on best practices, enhanced communication and improved business processes that lead to more cost-effective patient care.
