Meramec Arnold Eagles Auxiliary donates $5,200 to help support de Greeff Hospice House

The Meramec Arnold Eagles Auxiliary #3678 recently donated $5,200 to help support the Fern & Russell F. de Greeff Hospice House. The Auxiliary held a dinner/dance to raise the money. Approximately 200 people attended the event, which featured a chicken dinner, a silent and live auction, and music.

De Greeff Hospice House, located on the campus of St. Anthony’s Medical Center, provides quality end-of-life care to terminally ill patients and comfort and support to their families. Hospice focuses on care when a cure is no longer possible, maintaining the best quality of life for as long as possible, while neither prolonging life nor hastening death.

De Greeff Hospice House served 399 patients in the past year, 13 percent of whom were uninsured or underinsured. No one is turned away from hospice care due to lack of financial resources. Approximately $685,000 in charity care was provided to St. Anthony’s hospice patients in 2010.

Donations to help support de Greeff Hospice House may be made through St. Anthony’s Charitable Foundation; call 314-525-7330 for information.
