St. Anthony's Medical Center's Executive Chef Wayne Sieve oversees the preparation of the 15 turkeys that will be transported to Hosea House on Thanksgiving morning.
Like most families, St. Anthony’s Medical Center’s Food and Nutrition Services employees are preparing to celebrate an annual holiday tradition. Before the sun rises on Thanksgiving morning, the staff will take 15 golden brown turkeys from the hospital’s ovens.
Once the birds cool, they will be packaged and transported by volunteer drivers from St. Louis University High School to Hosea House’s annual Thanksgiving dinner.
Hosea House is an independent, interfaith agency that provides direct assistance to needy families and individuals in south St. Louis.
“Faithful to St. Anthony’s service tradition, we are pleased to partner with other area hospitals and retailers in support of the community,” said Linda Seffens, director of Food and Nutrition Services.
