Cancer Care Center earns accreditation with four commendations
St. Anthony’s Medical Center’s Cancer Center recently earned a three-year accreditation with commendations from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC).
The four areas of commendation include:
- timely reporting of cancer cases to the state of Missouri
- quality of data submitted to the National Cancer Data Base
- prevention and early detection programs offered to community
- improvements in quality of patient care.
The CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care.
“We are gratified to receive this external recognition of our Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program,” said Brian Pence, director. “This accreditation was accomplished through the combined efforts of our physicians and staff, whose teamwork and commitment to excellence insure that we truly provide the best care to every patient every day.”
