Charitable Foundation donation helps pay for charity care
Every day, St. Anthony’s provides much-needed medical care to patients who cannot afford the costs. St. Anthony’s provided more than $10 million in charity care to more than 2,200 patients for fiscal year 2014, which ended June 30, 2014. The need for charity care in our region grows every year, with an increase of more than $1 million annually since 2012.
St. Anthony’s Charitable Foundation (SACF) wants to make sure that we continue to provide care to those in our community who need it most. To address this growing need, St. Anthony’s Charitable Foundation made a donation of $689,000 in 2014 to provide charity care at St. Anthony’s.
“Providing care to those most in need is what makes St. Anthony’s truly a community hospital,” said Joe Lipic, Chairman of the Charitable Foundation. “It takes many donors, physicians, volunteers and friends of the Charitable Foundation to make a gift like this possible.”
The Charitable Foundation’s total fiscal year 2014 donation to St. Anthony’s Medical Center exceeds $768,000 for equipment, patient transportation, free patient programs and charity care. In addition, SACF contributed $105,000 in local grants to support non-profit, health-related organizations in our region.
