Neurosurgeon Fangxiang Chen, M.D.

Neurosurgeon Fangxiang Chen, M.D., recently joined the staff of St. Anthony’s Medical Center and St. Anthony’s Physician Organization. He has joined the practice of St. Anthony’s Neurosurgery Services, 10012 Kennerly Road, Suite 400, in South St. Louis County. He is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at St. Louis University.

Dr. Chen earned his medical degree from the Xiangya School of Medicine, Southeast University, in Changsha, China, and completed his residency at the Roy J. and Lucille Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. He completed his fellowship in minimally invasive skull base and endoscopic neurosurgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Az. In addition, Dr. Chen completed complex spine training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

St. Anthony’s Medical Center is among the largest hospitals in the St. Louis metropolitan area, serving residents from nine Missouri and Illinois counties and the City of St. Louis. The Catholic medical center, located in south St. Louis County, operates a 767-bed comprehensive healthcare complex and Level Two trauma center, as well as four urgent care facilities.
