Home Transport Program Offers Rides to Seniors and Disabled Adults to Medical Center Campus
One of the biggest problems encountered by older adults who are living independently is transportation. Many no longer are able to drive – or they never did. Some have developed a disability or special need for this type of service.
St. Anthony's new "Home Transport" program provides roundtrip transportation for adults age 55 and older and people with disabilities from their homes to St. Anthony’s campus. Click for media release
'Healing Garden' Provides Peaceful Haven in Heart and Surgical Pavilion

Visible from every floor of the new surgery and patient care tower, the elliptical healing garden is surrounded by glass on three sides and exposed to the outdoors at ceiling level. It exemplifies the addition’s biophilic design, which incorporates elements of nature. Hospital studies have shown that patients heal faster when exposed to natural elements. Click for media release

St. Anthony’s Heart and Surgical Pavilion was designed to provide the ideal patient environment. It radically redefines how patients are cared for and the setting in which they heal, through advanced technology, safety and infection control features and environmental amenities. The four-story surgery and patient-care tower brings to life the principles of biophilic design, which integrates elements of nature into the healing process. Research suggests that biophilic design provides the best possible environment for patients and the clinicians who care for them. Click for media release
Chest Pain Center Earns Highest Level of Accreditation
Twelve minutes from door to wire. That's the time it took from the time Gary Montgomery entered St. Anthony's Emergency Department two years ago with a massive heart attack to the moment the Cardiac Catheterization Lab staff opened a blocked blood vessel in his heart.
The 12-minute time helped St. Anthony's chest pain program earn special praise as part of its Cycle 2 accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Center.

2008 Scholarship Winners Announced
St. Anthony’s Medical Center Foundation, in partnership with the Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation, has announced the winners of St. Anthony’s Medical Center’s Norbert Siegfried Scholarships for 2008. This is the third year for the scholarship program, which has been named in honor of Norbert Siegfried, one of the founding fathers of St. Anthony’s Medical Center Foundation’s board of directors. Big Bend Urgent Care Center Opens July 11
St. Anthony’s Medical Center opens its fourth urgent care center on July 11 at Highway 44 and Big Bend Boulevard, to serve residents of Crestwood, Kirkwood, Sunset Hills, Webster Groves, Affton and surrounding communities. Click for media release
St. Anthony's Again Named Quality Respiratory Care Institution
St. Anthony’s Medical Center has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) from the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), for the sixth year in a row. St. Anthony’s is one of only 17 hospitals in the state and one of only two in the St. Louis area to receive this award. Click for media release
Acute Rehab Earns CARF Accreditation Again
For the second time in a row, St. Anthony’s Acute Rehab department has applied for – and received – a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an international, not-for-profit organization that accredits human services providers based on quality of services. Only 13 other inpatient rehabilitation programs have earned the CARF accreditation in Missouri. Click for media release

More than 1,000 People Preview New Pediatric Emergency Care
In December 2007, St. Anthony’s and Cardinal Glennon brought a new level of emergency care to South County children and families with Cardinal Glennon Pediatric Emergency Care at St. Anthony’s. This new 10,000-square-foot pediatric emergency department will meet the special needs of the more than 14,000 children who turn to St. Anthony’s for emergency care each year. Click for media release
