Long-Term Care Physicians
Since many physicians offer services only in a private practice setting, it frequently is necessary to select a new physician to manage medical care while in a long-term care facility.
Physician Selection Process
- Determine whether you or your loved one's current primary care physician will "follow" or continue providing care in the long-term care facility. If he or she will not, select a new primary care physician.
- For assistance in selecting a long-term care physician, contact St. Anthony's senior services at 314-525-1887. Senior services provides a staff of highly specialized, long-term care physicians who practice in multiple nursing facilities in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area.
- Contact the long-term care facility to advise the staff of the physician you have chosen to care for you or your loved one.
