This group meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. in the conference room on the 8th floor of the hospital. This is a member-driven club with a coordinator/sponsor from St. Anthony's Medical Center's Acute Rehab Unit. The meeting on the second Wednesday usually features a guest speaker on topics of interest to members. On the fourth Wednesday, the attendees split into two groups — survivors and caregivers. Each group then discusses issues such as role changes in the household, disability management, behavior changes and coping. This group is for survivors of strokes and their family and friends. The presenters are survivors and caregivers. The group meets the first and third Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon in the Acute Rehab Unit dining room. This is an excellent avenue for persons trying to understand the effects of stroke.
