St. Anthony’s Home Care Services is recognized as a Missouri quality leader, accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is a Medicare-certified home health agency.
Home Care Staff
The Home Care staff delivers compassionate care and a wide array of in-home healthcare, skilled nursing and rehabilitative therapy services. The home care team works closely with physicians, case managers, patients and families to provide quality care and services that meet the individual needs of each patient served.
Home Care Services
Home health nurses, home health aides, therapists, and social workers personally coordinate care to provide services such as:
- care-plan development
- education for patients and families regarding symptom and disease management (congestive heart failure, diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, etc.)
- medication administration and education
- medical social services including assessment of social and emotional factors related to illness and assistance in community resource planning
- pain management
- physical therapy including customized home exercise programs to improve strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, and pain control
- speech therapy including recommendations for adaptive equipment and training in its use related to speech therapy. In addition, home care offers programs to treat speech, language, cognitive/linguistic and swallowing disorders offered by a speech therapist certified in DPNS (Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation), one of the few in the St. Louis area.
- occupational therapy to assess the need for and recommend assistive devices related to occupational therapy. Individualized programs to improve performance of activities of daily living (for example, meal preparation, eating, bathing, toileting, dressing).
- comprehensive assessments of patients’ homes and recommendations for environmental adaptations
Skilled Nursing Care Services
This includes specialty nursing for:
- Cardiopulmonary management
- Diabetic management
- Orthopedic care
- Joint replacement therapy protocols
- Wound/Ostomy management including assessment and evaluation by Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN). Also, wound care and dressing changes, utilizing the latest wound care products and technology and ostomy care.

Insurance & Reimbursement
Medicare, Medicaid, and many private insurance companies cover intermittent skilled care when a patient requires medical care at home under the supervision of a physician.
