Cancer Care Services
Prevention, Education and Support Groups
St. Anthony’s offers a variety of community and patient education programs, with a strong focus on cancer prevention, as well as screenings and support groups for cancer patients and their families. These include:
- Show Me Healthy Women program that provides free screenings for breast cancer and help for women who have cancer through the State of Missouri
- "Look Good, Feel Better" Cosmetic Program through ACS featuring professional make-up and hair styling
- Reach to Recovery Program
- Man to Man Prostate Cancer Support Group
- Free wigs and hats available in the Radiation Oncology area of the Cancer Center
- Free class held each month by the professional staff at St. Anthony’s Breast Center to teach women to do a self-breast exam, as well as answer questions about breast health.
Special programs for St. Anthony’s cancer patients also include the following.
- Cancer patients receive a Gilda Radner puppy dog that is donated by St. Anthony’s Auxiliary.
- Upon completion of radiation therapy, all radiation patients receive gift certificates from the Flo-Do Fund for dinner for two at a participating restaurant.
- All cancer patients (and hospice patients) are treated once a month to Ted Drew’s ice cream, courtesy of the Flo-Do Fund.
- Free valet parking.
