Patients Come First
First in Medical Care
St. Anthony's is a well-respected tertiary care facility, offering advanced medical treatment in a number of specialties, including cardiology, women’s services, oncology/cancer care, orthopedics, neurology and emergency medicine.
- As the region’s only community hospital with a nationally certified Primary Stroke Center, St. Anthony's has the expertise and technological resources to quickly diagnose and treat any type of stroke within one hour of arrival.
- St. Anthony's was the region’s first medical center to receive national accreditation for its Chest Pain Center. The expertise and coordinated care from the earliest stages found at our Chest Pain Center and our dedicated 16-bed Chest Pain Unit are saving patients’ time and lives.
- In partnership with Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, a new, dedicated pediatric emergency department provides the best pediatric care close to home. An experienced and dedicated team of pediatric emergency physicians and nurses meet the special needs of the more than 14,000 children who turn to St. Anthony’s for emergency care each year.
First in Quality
St. Anthony's Medical Center strives for excellence and is committed to continually improving quality.
- For the past three years in a row, St. Anthony’s Medical Center has been named one of the nation’s “Top 100 Hospitals” as a performance improvement leader by Thomson Healthcare (formerly Solucient). The designation means we have demonstrated consistent year-over-year improvement of the health services for the people in our community that is among the fastest rate in the nation.
- We are among the top five percent nationally for patient safety, according to a recent quality study.
- All our managers are taught customer service excellence principles from The Studer Group, a well-respected organization specializing in leading practices in patient, physician and employee satisfaction.
First in Facilities
St. Anthony's made a major re-investment for the south St. Louis County region by undergoing a $90 million hospital re-design. The result is a new, four-story hospital facility, a separate pediatric emergency department, and all private acute care patient rooms.
