The Cancer Care Center

Breast Cancer Team at St. Anthony’s

Our multidisciplinary team includes:

  • Breast surgeon: Studies show that breast surgeons have better outcomes than general surgeons when removing breast tumors. At St. Anthony’s, Sarah Beth Snell, MD, is our dedicated breast surgeon.

  • Medical oncologists: These are the doctors in charge of deciding on a course of chemotherapy, powerful cancer-killing drugs. Your medical oncologist will decide whether you need neoadjuvant therapy, which is chemotherapy that is given prior to surgery in order to shrink the tumor and make it easier to remove.

  • Radiation oncologists: These doctors are in charge of radiation therapy. They will decide whether you are a candidate for radiation therapy and when and how it should be given.

  • Plastic surgeons: You may want an opportunity to discuss your reconstructive surgery options, especially if you are planning to have a mastectomy, in which the affected breast is removed.
