One of the most important aspects of effective treatment for depression is early diagnosis. To help share this important message, St. Anthony’s at Hyland Behavioral Health
will hold free depression screenings on the 25th annual National Depression Screening Day
, Thursday, Oct. 8. Anyone may receive a free depression screening.
Some of the signs that someone may be suffering from depression include:
- Feeling down or blue
- Lower than usual energy
- Feeling there is no hope for the future
- Blaming themselves
- Change in appetite or sleep
- Difficulty making decisions
The professional therapists at St. Anthony’s at Hyland Behavioral Health will offer screenings and can discuss what treatment options might be helpful for each individual. Treatment options include counseling, medication, physical activity, change in routine, and accessing various other resources that are available in the community.
Free depression screenings will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 3:30 to 6 p.m., at Hyland Education & Training Center on St. Anthony’s campus. Sign up for advanced registration by calling 314-ANTHONY (268-4669). Walk-in patients are welcome.
